From The Heritage Village Collection
This handpainted porcelain van is a replica of the original Dept. 56 "Village Express" van. The original van, a three-quartered scale "Shetland" style modeled after the 1929 Morris Monor van, took over ten months from original design to completion. Made in England exclusively for Dept. 56, the original "Village Express" features burl walnut panels, a mahogany framed windshield, deep buttoned black leather seats and a 57 horsepower engine which allows the van to reach modern day speed limits up to 55 mph.
